Agribusiness Unit

Agribusiness is a Unit of CBZ Bank Limited that specialises in offering financial solutions to clients in the agricultural production sector. This unit is located at CBZ Place, 7 Selous Avenue, Harare whilst it has representation at the following branches: Karoi, Chinhoyi, Chiredzi, and Mutare.

Overdrafts/Loans

The Unit provides seasonal facilities in the form of loans and/or overdrafts.

  • Overdrafts are usually advanced for a period of up to 12 months and are essentially seasonal finance and for working Capital
  • Loans which can be short term or medium term ranging from one year to three years are for basic capital expenditure.

Bank Guarantees

Bank guarantees are usually offered over a period of one season and these are issued in favour of input suppliers or agro-equipment suppliers.

Requirements

  • The applicant must be an account holder with CBZ Bank and must have operated the account for at least 6 months.
  • Cover Application Letter
  • Official tenure of land (original offer letter, title deed or lease agreement from title holder)
  • Brief business outline (Project Proposal). To cover current operations, proposed enterprises, marketing arrangements and project management structure.
  • Tangible collateral security being offered to cover borrowings. (house, commercial properties – supply copies of Title Deeds as well as latest valuation report)
  • Copy of National Identity Documents (individual applicant and/or Company Directors)
  • Insurance Policies covering; Key-man’s life, Crop/Livestock, Farm Machinery/equipment, loan protection.
  • Current banking arrangements with other banks. (Bank, Branch, Account Number, Branch/Relationship Manager, time with the Bank.)
  • Cash flow projection covering the tenor of the facilities being applied for.
  • Tobacco growers to also submit Grower’s Number
  • Sugarcane farmers to submit Cane Milling Contract or Cane Purchase Agreement
  • Attach copies of quotations for Capital Items to be financed

Corporates should add the following:

  • Company Registration documents.
  • Brief business outline-covering date of incorporation, shareholding structure, market, competition and future plans.
  • Financials for the past two years (Income Statement & Balance Sheet)-signed off by Directors.
  • Latest Management Accounts (Income Statement & Balance Sheet)-signed off by Directors.
  • Aged Debtors & Creditors Analysis.
